Shinagawa Municipal Elementary and Junior High School Entrance Procedures for Foreign Residents
If you are a foreign resident of Shinagawa City and would like to enroll your child in a municipal elementary or junior high school, you must complete the appropriate application form. Those who have completed foreign resident registration will be sent the appropriate forms in late September. If you have not completed foreign resident registration and would like to enroll your child in a municipal school, please contact the School Affairs Section.

Eligibility:
Elementary school – children who were born between April 2, 1999, and April 1, 2000;
Junior high school – children who were born between April 2, 1993, and April 1, 1994.
* To enroll in junior high school, some restrictions apply, such as graduation from elementary school, etc. Please call for more information.
Application deadline: October 31 (Mon.)
Health Checkup: Scheduled to start in November for children who will be first-graders in elementary school from April.
