Public School Enrollment Procedures for Foreign Residents
Foreign residents of Shinagawa City who would like to enroll their children in a municipal elementary or junior high school need to complete application procedures. Appropriate forms will be sent in late September to those who have completed their foreign resident registration. Those who have not yet completed their foreign resident registration and would like to enroll their child in a municipal school should contact the city as follows: Eligibility: Elementary school: Children born between April 2, 2000 and April 1, 2001; Junior high school: Children born between April 2, 1994 and April 1, 1995 *In order to apply for junior high school enrollment, completion of elementary school is required. Registration deadline: October 31 (Tue.) Health Checkup: To be provided starting in November for children who will start first grade next April.
