Garbage Sorting Procedures Will Change in October
In October, Shinagawa City will implement a thermal recycling program* and start collecting clean plastic containers and wrapping as well as fluorescent lights as recyclable resources in all communities in the city. Some communities have already made the change in the form of a model program since September 2007.
*Plastic items that have been collected as noncombustible waste will now be burned and the resultant thermal energy collected.
