Sugino Costume Museum The Sugino Costume Museum was established in 1957 with the goal of helping students learn more about costumes. The museum stores mainly Western clothing but also collects other costumes, such as kimonos from Japan and traditional clothing from other areas in Asia and Europe, as well as reference pictures of fashion and style. The museum is open to the general public, and visitors can see the collected items according to the theme of each special exhibition.
Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum—housed in a unique building in the Art Deco style, which took the European art world by storm in the early 20th century—opened its gates to the public as a Tokyo metropolitan art museum in 1983. The garden area surrounding the building is beautiful, and there is a pond in a Japanese-style garden. You can simply enjoy the garden. Also, the Institute for Nature Study, which is affiliated with the National Museum of Nature and Science, is adjacent to this museum.
