Eligibility: 18 foreign residents and 18 Japanese residents who live or work in Shinagawa (by lottery)
Fee: ¥1,000
To apply: Use the application form on the Shinagawa-ku International Friendship Association's website or send a fax to the association (Tel: 5742-6517; Fax: 5742-6518; www.sifa.or.jp/) with the class name, your address, name (with furigana), age, sex, and telephone number. For those who work in Shinagawa, include the name, address, and telephone number of your workplace. Foreign residents should also include their nationality. Applications must be received by January 26 (Thu.).
