Edo-no-Sato Kagura Performance
The unique Edo-no-sato Kagura—a traditional dance performed to music dedicated to the gods—presents works of Japanese folk literature such as the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) and the Nihon Shoki (Chronicles of Japan). It was performed and refined in Edo (Tokyo) under the influence of Noh and Kabuki during the Edo Period, and is designated as a national important intangible folk cultural asset.
