Shinagawa City Organizational Changes from April 2016

To address new administrative issues and provide even better service, Shinagawa City has revised its organizational structure. Changes are outlined below.

●New Section

Housing Section:

Is a specialized section dealing in management of Shinagawa’s public housing and promoting measures for vacant houses.

●New Subsections

Section Chief in charge of Childcare Facilities Coordination (Nursery Section):

Works on the privatization of municipal nursery school and renovation of childcare facilities.

Unit in charge of Multilevel Street Development (City Development Section):

Promotes grade separations (separation of railways from roads) and community development around grade separations.

Unit in charge of New Public Accounting System (Treasurer’s Office):

Prepares for the introduction of a new public accounting system.

Section Chief in charge of School Planning (General Affairs Section):

Investigates directions in school-age populations, aging of school facilities, school selection systems and other general school-related trends.
