Persons Shinagawa City has long been a key transportation hub, and has a host of attractive qualities that include friendly ties between people, lively local festivals, bustling shopping streets such as Togoshi Ginza and Musashi-Koyama, and natural waterways like the Meguro-gawa River and Shinagawa-ura.
Under the slogan “Wa! Shinagawa,” Shinagawa City is working to tell as many people as possible about our city, spreading the word about local lifestyles, lively traditions and attractive qualities that our urban areas share.
Let’s Spread the Word: The Amazing Qualities of Shinagawa City That Make People Say “Wa (Wow)!”
The slogan “Wa! Shinagawa” was chosen because we can convert it in various ways in terms of the sound and design of the word “Wa!,” which has a sense of growth. With simple, active-looking letters, the logo symbolizes the energy of the unique communities of Shinagawa. Vivid colors are also used to show the diversity of our city.

■ A logo with sound
An audiovisual version of the logo featuring sound and animation has been created, and it will be broadcast during the ending theme of the Shinagawa public relations program on the cable channel TV Shinagawa from April 30. Please watch for it!

Convenient Transportation
Shinagawa City has a total of forty train stations, and is proud to be one of the most convenient transportation hubs in Tokyo. One of these stations, Oimachi, is a junction station operated by JR, Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (Rinkai Line) and Tokyu. Osaki Station’s west exit bus terminal was completed in December 2015. The convenience of Shinagawa City continues to evolve as the network spreads between Shinagawa City and other cities across Japan.
Convenient Shopping Areas
Shopping streets closely intertwined with their local communities are another distinctive characteristic of Shinagawa City, which has over a hundred such avenues. Togoshi Ginza Shopping Street—with a straight shopping street that stretches for 1.3 kilometers—is widely known as the first shopping street with the name “Ginza.”
A Moment at an Oasis—Natural Greenery and Waterways
With naturally scenic areas at parks and waterways, Shinagawa City’s atmosphere is different from that of most urban areas. There are many scenic spots to visit here, such as Togoshi Park and the docks of Shinagawa-ura.
