Let’s Visit the Shinagawa Historical Museum on November 3!

The Shinagawa Historical Museum will hold Japanese cultural experience events on November 3, which is a national holiday, to commemorate the special exhibition “The Beginning of Industry in Shinagawa—The Mecca of Modern Industry that Supported Japan.”

1. Enjoy a Tea Ceremony
You can enjoy matcha (green tea) and Japanese confections in a tatami room in the Shoin (traditional style of Japanese residential architecture).
Hours: Session 1, 10:00 a.m. to noon; session 2, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Capacity: One hundred persons per session (on a first-come, first-served basis)
Fee: 50 yen
How to participate: Simply come to the museum’s Shoin on the day of the event.

2. Shotekian (Tea Room)—Open to the Public
You can look inside the Shotekian (tea room) located in the garden.
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Fee: Free of charge
Note:Canceled if it rains.

Note: A separate admission fee (300 yen for adults; 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students) is charged for the special exhibition.

  • A one-minute walk from the Kashima-jinja-mae bus stop on the Tokyu Bus bound for Ikegami or Kamata from Oimachi Station
  • A ten-minute walk along Ikegami Avenue from the north exit of Omori Station
  • A thirteen-minute walk from Keikyu Tachiaigawa Station
