The 27th Traditional Crafts and Tastes of Shinagawa Exhibition

Vivid ukiyo-e printing, Edo-kiriko (Edo cut glass), wasai (Japanese dressmaking). . . . There will be demonstration booths of skilled professionals in these arts and more from the Shinagawa Traditional Crafts Preservation Group. A variety of traditional treats will be offered as well, such as Japanese sweets. Don’t miss the fun!
Date and time: January 28 (Sat.) and 29 (Sun.), 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (until 4:30 p.m. on January 29)
Location: Event Hall, Curian 7F (in front of Oimachi Station)
Craft demonstrations: Ukiyo-e printing, Edo-kiriko, wasai, ribiyo hasami (hairdresser scissors), Tokyo kiritansu (Tokyo paulownia wood chests of drawers), hyogu (picture framing), Tokyo ginki (Tokyo silverware), urushi kogei (lacquerware), kusakizome tebataorimono (textile work using plants as dyes), chochin moji (paper lantern calligraphy), obi shitate (kimono sash tailoring), kanaami (metal mesh), kotto shuri (antique repairing), wasao (Japanese fishing rods), nihon shishu (Japanese embroidery), Edo sudare (Edo bamboo blind), butsuzo chokoku (Buddhist statue sculpting), pottery art and tatami.
Cooking demonstrations: Tea, Japanese sweets, shumai (Chinese dumplings), oden (hotpot of boiled delicacies), bread and more.
