Apply for Temporary Welfare Benefits Now

Temporary welfare benefits are provided to residents exempt from 2016 resident’s tax who fulfill benefit requirements. Application forms were mailed in early September 2016 to eligible residents. The application deadline is February 28 (Tue.). Applications cannot be accepted after the deadline, so please remember to file your application.

Eligibility: Residents who had completed resident registration in Shinagawa City as of January 1, 2016 and are exempt from resident’s tax for 2016.
Benefit amount: 3,000 yen per person (Recipients of Disability Basic Pension or Survivors’ Basic Pension for May 2016 will receive an additional 30,000 yen per person. However, those who already receive 30,000 yen of the provisional welfare benefit for elderly persons are not eligible for this program.)
Application period: Until February 28 (Tue.)
