Shinagawa Aquarium opened within Shinagawa-kumin Park, which promote coexistence with nature, in October 1991 with a mission to focus on interaction with ocean and river life. The aquarium features distinctive exhibits and events, such as an observatory for spotted seal behavior, where seals can be watched from all angles; a tunnel water tank that is home to 900 fish that swim above you; and an underwater show featuring divers and fish as performers. These attractions bring many visitors from local areas and even overseas.

From July 11 (Wed.) to September 17 (Mon., a national holiday), the aquarium will hold a special exhibition: “Sea Slugs Are a Kind of Snail!—Sea Slugs and Their Friends.” Please come and observe these colorful and beautiful sea slugs and similar creatures. |

| 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Admission is until 4:30 p.m.) Note: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and from August 11 to 16. Closed: Tuesdays and January 1 Note: However, the aquarium will be open on Tuesdays that fall on national holidays and during the Golden Week and spring, summer and winter holidays. |
