Golden Week

Golden week is Japanese English, which refers to Japanese holiday period from the end of April to the beginning of May. Originally, people in the movie theater business began calling it Golden Week when the number of visitors increased thanks to the string of holidays in 1950s. In news and newspapers, Golden Week is often referred to as a “long consecutive holidays.” This year will be 10 consecutive holidays from April 27 to May 6.
