Curian—A 30th Anniversary
Kabuki Series

Part 1
● Experience-Based Performance Learning How to Enjoy Kabuki/Introduction to Kabuki
Experience the world of kabuki in a way that is easy for even beginners to understand. We will also hold workshops on the kuma-dori and tachi-mawari techniques (reservations are required for the workshops). Please join us!

Date and Time: September 28 (Sat.), from 2:30 p.m.; the hall opens at 2:00 p.m.
Program: Part 1—“Enlightening Explanation! The World of Kabuki” (with demonstration); Part 2—“Bo-shibari (Tied to a Pole)” (a popular Kyogen comedy performance)
Performers: Kiraku Senkawa (playing the role of the daimyo [feudal lord]), Kan Oga (playing the role of Taro Kaja [servant]), and Han No Jo (playing the role of Jiro Kaja)
Admission: 2,000 yen; High school students and younger: 1,000 yen (all seats reserved)
Note: One child up to two years of age may sit on the lap of the adult; if the child needs a separate seat, the full admission fee will be charged.
Tickets on sale: from July 5 (Fri.)

From 10:00 a.m. at O Art Museum (from 9:00 a.m. on the first day only)

Notes:
1. In the case of service counter sales and telephone reservations, please have someone who can speak English.
2. Those making telephone reservations will not be able to select a seat.
3. Up to 6 tickets per person on the first day tickets become available.
4. Reservations required on workshops (fees: 500 yen; maximum twenty persons on a first-come, first-served basis). Please apply after reading the information on the website at http://www.shinagawa-culture.or.jp/.

Part 2
Kabuki Performance
Enjoy the techniques and unique characters of the actors, as well as the beauty of Japanese classical dance.

Date: November 4 (a holiday).
