Japanese-Language Classes for Foreign Residents
Would you like to enjoy learning Japanese with us?
Courses:
1) Part I—For those learning Japanese for the first time: Morning, afternoon and evening classes
2) Part II—For those who have studied Japanese before and can write hiragana and katakana: Afternoon and evening classes
3) Part III—For those with everyday conversational skills: Afternoon and evening classes
Dates and times:
1) and 2) Tuesdays and Thursdays, from April 20 through July 1 (total of 20 classes), excluding April 29 and May 4.
3) Mondays and Wednesdays, from April 19 through June 30 (total of 20 classes), excluding May 3 and 5.
Morning class: 10:00 a.m. to noon
Afternoon class: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Evening class: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Eligibility and capacity: Ten foreign residents per course (lottery if number of application exceeds the capacity)
Tuition: 7,000 yen per course (textbook fee included)
Notes:
1. Babysitting services are not available.
2. Application deadline is Wednesday, March 31 (must be received by this date)

Recruiting Translation Volunteers
Here’s a Chance to Use Your Language Skills!
The Shinagawa-ku International Friendship Association is recruiting volunteers who can use their translation skills to help foreign residents. The association is primarily looking for volunteers to translate information about association events, association bulletins, notifications from public institutions and documents to be submitted to public institutions.
Languages: (1) English (2) Chinese (Simplified Chinese)
Number and eligibility: A few people who are 18 at least eighteen years of age
There will be an interview and a translation skill test.
Application deadline: Monday, March 22 (must be received by this date)
