An Announcement Concerning COVID-19 Vaccinations
The government approved the Pfizer vaccine on February 14, and the vaccination of healthcare workers has begun. Vaccinations are expected to occur according to the priority the national government has designated.
The information the national government issued regarding vaccination (as of March 25) is provided in this issue.
Eligibility and Order of Vaccinations
The vaccine the national government has secured will be provided gradually across Japan, with vaccinations to occur in the order shown below:
(1) Healthcare workers
(2) Senior citizens (born on or before April 1, 1957)
(3) People other than senior citizens who have underlying illnesses
(4) People who work in facilities for the elderly
(5) People between 60 and 64 years of age (born between April 2, 1957 and April 1, 1962)
Note: Depending on supplies of the vaccine, this group may be vaccinated simultaneously with group (3).
(6) Others (excluding those under sixteen years old).
● The standard date for ages is as of March 31, 2022.
● If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your family doctor before receiving the vaccination.
Vaccinations Are Optional
COVID-19 vaccinations are by choice, and are not required by law. Vaccinations are available to anyone who agrees to be vaccinated after sufficient information is provided.
Anyone who gets vaccinated does so by choice, and only after understanding both the effects of preventing the infection by vaccination and the risk of side effects. Vaccinations will not be administered without the consent of the person receiving them.
Vaccinations Are Free
Since public funds cover the entire cost, you can be vaccinated for free.
Mailing Vaccination Tickets
When the time comes for you to receive vaccinations, Shinagawa City will mail the documents required for vaccination, such as the vaccination ticket, to your registered address.

Please decide on the public vaccination location or medical institution where you wish to be vaccinated and make a reservation by calling the place or registering via the Internet. |

On the date and time of your reservation, be sure to bring the vaccination ticket Shinagawa City mailed to you as well as official documentation to confirm youar ID (such as a driver’s license, health insurance card or My Number card) to the vaccination location. |

Note: Healthcare workers do not need the vaccination tickets mailed to them from the Shinagawa City Office. Details will be announced at the place of employment.

Vaccination Locations
As a rule, you will receive your vaccinations at a public vaccination location or medical institution in Shinagawa City. This information will be announced later via the Shinagawa City website and City News Shinagawa.
○ The people noted below are scheduled to receive vaccinations outside of Shinagawa City. The specific procedures will be announced at a later date.
● People hospitalized or institutionalized in a medical facility or other facility outside of Shinagawa City who plan to undergo vaccinations at that facility.
● People who have an underlying illness and plan to undergo vaccinations at the medical institution where they are currently being treated.
● Anyone who lives in a place other than his/her registered address.
