Shinagawa City Office to Be Reorganized in April

The organization of the city office has been revamped to address new administrative issues and to improve city resident services. We describe the changes being made below.

● New Sections/Subsections
• Child Guidance Center Opening Preparation Section (Unit in charge of Child Guidance Center Opening Preparation): This section promotes programs having to do with the opening of the child guidance center.

● Sections Being Renamed
• (Formerly) Planning and Coordination Section ⇒ (New) Planning Section

● New Subsections
• Unit in charge of Policy Promotion (Planning Section): This unit handles important issues more actively.
• Unit in charge of SDGs (Planning Section): This unit promotes programs involving SDGs.
• Unit in charge of Hiromachi Project Coordination (New Government Building Maintenance Section): This unit coordinates Hiromachi project.
• Unit in charge of Business Support (Handicapped Residents Support Section): This unit reinforces programs involving support for managers of facilities for the handicapped.
• Unit in charge of Shinagawa Aquarium (Parks Section): This unit promotes the programs involving the renewal of Shinagawa Aquarium.
• Unit in charge of School Systems (School Affairs Section): This unit manages the School Systems Council.

● Subsections Being Renamed
• Childrearing Support Section (Formerly) Allowance and Medical Care Subsidy ⇒ (New) Unit in charge of Allowances and Medical Care Subsidies
• Nursery Section (Formerly) Facility and Management ⇒ (New) Unit in charge of Facility Management
• Educational Total Support Center (Formerly) Special Support and Education Subsection ⇒ (New) Unit in charge of Special Support and Education

● Subsections Eliminated
• Unit in charge of Preparation for Establishment of the Child Guidance Center (Child Upbringing Section): This unit was eliminated with the establishment of the Child Guidance Center Opening Preparation Section.
• Section Chief in charge of Total Support Facility for Disabled People and Section Chief in charge of Daycare Services for People with Severe Physical and Mental Disabilities (Handicapped Residents Support Section): This position was eliminated with the establishment of the Unit in charge of Business Support (Handicapped Residents Support Section).
