From May 8, 2023, COVID-19 Downgraded to Class 5

● Change in Classification
COVID-19 has downgraded to Class 5 under the Infectious Disease Control Act, the same rank as seasonal influenza. National and prefectural government programs has changed accordingly.
After May 8, patient registration, health observation and restrictions on outings have lifted, and you have to pay medical costs. In addition, hospitalization and treatment are available at a wide range of medical facilities, which is a change from previous measures.
Although the classification has changed to Class 5, this does not mean that the virus’s infection power and pathogenicity have changed. We would deeply appreciate your cooperation in continuing with the basic countermeasures, such as regularly washing and disinfecting your hands.
