Shinagawa Children Centers
Check Out Your Local Children Center!
There are twenty-five Children Centers in Shinagawa City. They offer programs for children from newborns to eighteen years of age, and others which small children and parents can do together. The centers aim to promote wholesome physical and mental health through consultation services related to childrearing and play activities. Please use your local Children Center.

Introducing: Some Programs Conducted at Children Centers |
Activities for Infants and Toddlers and Parents
Children Centers conduct age-specific programs such as Oyako no Hiroba (Parents & Children’s Plaza) for families with infants and/or toddlers to promote friendly exchanges of parents through programs. These include seasonal events, play activities and crafts.
Play Activities for Elementary Schoolers
There are various club activities for elementary school children, including ping-pong, basketball, dancing, unicycle riding, crafts, taiko drums and band music.
A Place Where Junior High and High Schoolers Can Relax
Teens’ Plaza*1 is a unique Children Center program that supports junior high and high school students. Twice a week, Center hours are extended from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for “Teens’ Time,” when only junior high school and high school students are allowed to play.
*1 This program is available at Higashi-Shinagawa, Nakahara, Hiratsuka, Higashi-Nakanobe, Yutaka, Fujimidai, Takioji, Higashi-Oi, and Yashio Children Centers.
