Expiration dates:
National Health Insurance cards: September 30, 2025
75+ Health Insurance cards: July 31, 2025
Note to foreign residents: Your insurance card will expire on the date your visa expires (if your card has not expired by that time).
● If your health insurance card has expired or your address or co-payment ratio has changed, etc.
You will no longer be able to use your paper health insurance card. You will need to do one of the following:

○ Those enrolled in National Health Insurance
• Individuals who do not have a My Number card/My Number insurance card*
You will be issued a certificate of eligibility containing your insurance information, including your eligibility for health insurance. By presenting this certificate at a medical institution, etc., you can receive medical treatment covered by insurance.
* My Number card registered for use as a health insurance card.
• Individuals who have a My Number insurance card
You will receive a notice of eligibility information showing your insurance information, including your eligibility for health insurance. If you are unable to use your My Number insurance card for some reason, you can present your card together with your notice of eligibility information at the medical institution, etc. to receive medical treatment covered by insurance.
Notes:
1. Individuals enrolled in the National Health Insurance system between the ages of 70 and 74 will no longer be issued recipient cards for seniors.
2. Whether or not you have a My Number insurance card, you will still need to follow the National Health Insurance system enrollment/unenrollment procedures when necessary.
○ Those enrolled in Latter-Term Elderly Medical Insurance
Until 31 July 2025, a certificate of eligibility will be issued regardless of whether you have a My Number insurance card.
